Ecotourism

Ecotourism

Has 3 natural parks: UROK Islands Reserve, João Vieira Poilão Natural Park and Orango Natural Park.

Our proposal is for you to come discover this magical spot among nature and share some privileged moments of the life on the island. As the seasons passby, plan your tour in this exceptional environment to make your holiday unique and unforgettable.

We organize ecotourism trips: discovering wildlife, observing biodiversity and some protected species.

We offer trips to the neighboring islands, where you can get to know the customs and people in the typical villages up close.

We offer a variety of unique group-based activities and vary from trip to trip according to requirements and weather.

The emphasis is on discovering and enjoying our unique natural environment through specific circuits around the archipelago.

Main Attractions

Hippopotamus

Orango National Park is the residence of the Hippopotamus Amphibious. Live a unique experience in the heart of a preserved nature while visiting the hippopotamus pond on a boat in the bolongs and lagoons, then by foot behind the guide in the wooded savannah.

Green Turtle

Poilão Island is one of the 3 most important places in the world for the spawning of the Green Turtle – each night more than 60 turtles come to lay their eggs on Poilão beach. You'll have the chance to observe turtles nesting in one of the most preserved places in the world - João Vieira, Poilão Park.

Ornithology

More than 130 identified species of birds, between them migratory birds and residents, such as: Pelican,
various species of Herons, Ibis, Fishing Eagle, Jabiru of Senegal, Flamingo, Swallow, Weavers, etc...

Village and People

The islands are inhabited by the Bijagó ethnic group. When visiting the villages, we discover that the Bijagós people are preserved from external influences due to their insularity. It's like a travel back in time that you will never forget.
